Our Journey Through Time

The Springs Living was founded in 1996 and built on a promise to take care of families. Today, The Springs Living continues to create warm, hand-crafted communities that feel like home and we've never lost sight of our true mission. When you deeply respect and care about others, you will go out of your way to serve them and do the right thing.

1996

Conceptualized The Springs Living

After recognizing the need for a better place for his Grandma to live, Fee purchased land for the development of The Springs Living’s first community.

1998

Opened First Community

The Woods at Willowcreek in Salem, Oregon opened for 60 residences.

1999

Opened Second Community

The Springs at Clackamas Woods in Milwaukie, Oregon opened for 72 residences. Eventually, this was the community that became “home” to Fee’s grandmothers.

2000

Opened The Springs at Sunnyview

Located less than a mile from The Woods at Willowcreek, The Springs at Sunnyview opened for independent living residences, forming a sister community to provide a continuum of care in Salem, Oregon.

2001

First Expansion

The Springs at Clackamas Woods in Milwaukie, Oregon expanded to include independent living.

2004

First Montana Community

Opened the first community built in Montana - The Springs at Missoula - providing a continuum of care for 142 residences.

2007

Montana Community Acquisition

Acquired a senior community and rebranded it The Springs at Whitefish to provide assisted living and memory care for 70 residences.

2009

Opened Community in Hillsboro

Completed construction of The Springs at Tanasbourne in Hillsboro, Oregon with a continuum of care available for 230 residences.

2011

Expansions in Oregon and Montana

Footsteps® memory care is added to The Springs at Clackamas Woods, The Springs at Whitefish and The Woods at Willowcreek.

2012

Four Acquisitions in Oregon

Acquired four senior communities and rebranded them The Springs at Sherwood, The Springs at Wilsonville, The Springs at Mill Creek (in The Dalles), and The Springs at Carman Oaks (in Lake Oswego).

2014

Southern Oregon Acquisitions and Reconstruction

Acquired two senior communities in the Rogue Valley, Oregon and rebranded them The Springs at Anna Maria and The Springs at Veranda Park. Major reconstruction completed on The Springs at Carman Oaks in Lake Oswego, Oregon.

2015

Two Montana Acquisitions

Acquired two senior communities in Montana and rebranded them The Springs at Butte and The Springs at Grand Park (in Billings).

2016

Southern Oregon Reconstruction

Major reconstruction completed in Medford, Oregon including the addition of Assisted Living at The Springs at Veranda Park.

2017

Opened Community in Eugene, Oregon

Purchased the former Greer Gardens Nursery and transformed the land into The Springs at Greer Gardens with a continuum of care for 216 residences. Rhododendrons continue to bloom throughout the campus.

2018

Groundbreaking of Two Communities

Construction begins in Bozeman, Montana and Lake Oswego, Oregon while a major expansion begins in Sherwood, Oregon - including the addition of Independent Living options.

2019

Team Springs Ignites

Recognizing the need to develop an Employee brand, Team Springs is launched and earns certification as a Great Place To Work.
